PAKISTAN AIR BASE BASE MASROOR Today, what was known as RAF Mauripur continues as a strategic operational base for the Pakistan Air Force, playing a vital role in the air defence of the southern and coastal regions of Pakistan. It is now called PAF Base Masroor, re-named in memory of one of its Commanders, Air Commodore Masroor Hosain, who was killed in a tragic bird-strike whilst flying from the base on 24th May, 1967. (It is hoped to develop this page in the near future but, for the time being, we wish to thank the Editor of Air Forces Monthly (Key Publishing Ltd) for permission to reproduce these two photographs)
